In a couple months, you are going to be bombarded with invitations for Halloween parties and you will find yourself pausing over your breakfast wondering what or who to dress up as. Catwoman is out of style and only the lamest would think of dressing as an angel. But perhaps if you could mix the looks, you just might come up with something sexy and awe-inspiring. The Cybertek Wings will give your costume the much needed zing that is missing in the traditional Mummy look and you can be Cyber-Catwoman with just (ahem) $1000.

The Cybertek Wings are made of carbon fibre and extrude aluminum. Each wing contains six long ‘feathers’ that end in glowing tips. The wings are quite eco-friendly and will not mar your look by forcing you to carry a huge battery for power because the wings rely on, what else, air pressure for power. Expanding and retracting the wings seven times will power the LEDs that would light the wing tips for 5-10 minutes. The preferred colour for the wingtip can also be set. So when you feel the glow around you dim, just flap your wings to brighten up the room.

If gadgets are your craze and if dressing them up with pomp is your thing then this is surely for you. A special diamond studded leather casing for your iPhone that helps it stand out from the crowd. Though this is surely not for everyone as it is highly unlikely that you would be spending more on a casing to protect your iPhone from scratches than on the phone itself! The leather iPhone case has in it embedded 272 diamonds (6.8 karats worth) fashioned into luxury goods purveyor Noreve’s St. Tropez logo. The casing is surely a ‘Collector’s Edition’ to say the least.

Reports of extensive long lines were common throughout Asia with the new 3G iPhone mania on a high but it is highly unlikely that all those tech savvy fanatics are going to line up for this one. Seems though that the design is an absolute waste of all that money and all those glittering stones with the way it has been crafted. It appears that you could have done a lot more with something that you have attached a price tag of $15,000 to.

You heard that right; this one comes at $15,000 and unless you are a Paris Hilton or someone akin to having the same amount of cash and the same level of sense, it is unlikely that you will allow such a big hole in your pocket!

Bulletproof Clothing

The rising crime rate in the world can be seen as a reason for Miguel Caballero’s having deep pockets. Engaged into designing bulletproof clothing for past 16-years, the Colombian designer maintains its charm in high-security fashion by unveiling various revolutionary offerings. With all efforts invested to have a security shield without missing on style, Miguel lately unveiled his novel collection detailing blazers, slickers and suede jackets, some sated with a reassuring stab-proof coating at his London department store Harrods. The collection aims at offering three levels of ballistic defense to its proud holders.

Few of the apparels include a polo shirt that can endure a whack from a 9-mm handgun valued at $7,500 whilst another version costing $9,800 shields wearers from mechanical weapons, counting mini-Uzis. If figures do make a difference to you then it generated sales of $9 million in 2007. The Caballero-secured clothing is now becoming the choice of high-profile clients i.e. King Abdullah of Jordan, Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez and actor Stephen Segal. Mind you, the elite clan loves security and style as they have a heart to spill over the hidden cost involved.

The fruition of Sanyo Xacti HDTV tapeless camcorders compensates from intellectual design and appeal with the DMX-HD800, whose manufacturer believes it seizes a “huge leap in image quality” over its precursor that got unveiled last October. You may find it as an exaggeration at our end but being fans of Sanyo’s Xacti 720p camcorders, we can’t help adoring its quality-performance and expedient flash memory-based HDTV execution for a realistic price. The featured above model sports 5x zoom, 8-megapixel imager, face tracking plus a 2.7-inch LCD view screen. Planned to be shipped in Japan on 22 August, it can be seen as a budgeted deal for $468.

Point is it would bring a revolution in the mindset and performance of all random camera companies that believe that an HD camcorder should cost twofold and will be constrained to pursue suit.

This space pays tribute to all random opulent thingamajigs and taking a customary call on this, today we would like to introduce you with the world’s most expensive necktie that got unveiled in 2003. No, the news is not stale as it has made up to the headlines with the recent update. Designed by Satya Paul and the Suashish Diamond Group, the silk base of the tie carried by Salman Khan comes festooned with 261 diamonds weighing 77 carats and 150 grams of gold and was valued at Rs1 crore in 2003. Lately, a revision in its cost has happened and it is being discovered that the cost of the necktie has now risen to Rs10 million or $220,000. Gawd, I wonder if ordinary folks besides celebrities and industry moguls can afford to buy one or would they find themselves restricted to window shopping? Well, if you ask me then spending this many such creations may seem a routine for people with big pockets but I would like to go with a plain silk tie with a diamond chip layering or gold lining.

Toshiba -- clearly feeling the heat from other fashionable external hard drive makers -- has introduced a new line of disks guaranteed to bring on a neon flashback from your disco days (or Eurotrash nightmares). The three new models come decked out in the 160GB "Gecko Green," 250GB "Hot Rod Red," and 320GB "Carbon Grey" variations, with USB 2.0 ports and 8MB buffers on-board. The drives are Mac and PC compatible, and are available now for $89.99, $179.99, and $199.99, respectively.

Update:
Apparently these drives have been out for a little while (thanks commenters!), so feel free to quiet any alarms that may have been sounded.
